Inspiration and Evolution
Every day my shop is growing, and evolving, and my dreams along with it. Each day I have new product ideas. I joke with my family that the product ideas come from my muse whispering in my ear. For me, every day also comes with hope, but anxiety with it. Why?
It’s those nagging little questions whispering in my ear; “Maybe you made a mistake!” or “You cannot do this.” or “You’re not good enough.” or “You’ll fail.”
Normal fears everyone has. I’m sure every new business owner has had them. However, the one thing the little devil whispering these doubts to me doesn’t take into account is that I am, among other things, a perfectionist. Failure just isn’t an option.
Why would I share this with you? Because I want you to get to know me. Everyone sees these famous owners, from Amazon, from Tesla, but what do you know about them? They’re rich. Ok, cool, but who are they? This is me. A real human, and I run my own business. I’ve been married for 24 years with 2 college kids, and another one fixing to go into high school. I’m Jewish. I have dogs that are both rescues. I’m a horror movie buff.
I worked insurance for a decade, and I was unfortunate enough to work for a credit card company during the market crash of 2008. I saw everything jump and people scrambling to save and find value. Kind of like how it is now. Need groceries? Take out a loan. Need car insurance? Well, just take out a mortgage on your house to pay this month because of rate increases. Get a big bag of chips, open it up, and it’s MAYBE half full. Who do you complain to? Do they care? Probably not. It’s a buck in their pocket, so we shrug, grumble and just deal with it.
I do not ever want to be like that. With my products, what you see is what you get. Period. I want to prove that honesty and the willingness to chase the American Dream can happen for anyone. I want to show my kids, that no matter how hard or scary something is, if you want it, go get it. If you find this inspiring, I’m glad. Join me down this road and lets chase our dreams.
What Do I want
Like everyone else, I am a consumer. Prices keep going up, quality keeps going down. Even when you go grocery shopping you see items that look full…until you open it and you’re lucky if it’s even half full.
I’ve worked in customer service for 30 years. I read reviews on different sites and I have to shake my head at what I read. I’ve seen many comments that when a person goes to shop, prices say one thing, then at check out, the cost suddenly shoots up with no warning. I’ve seen comments of people ordering items, and refer to their orders as “Christmas” because many times, despite their order, they get something completely different. So many ads that pop up you can barely do anything. Fun games where you never actually win, but you can’t get around them.
I’ve seen so many reviews that products look one way, but are actually something different. Comments that when there is a problem, there is zero help from customer support. It’s ridiculous.
Lets be clear that I am not a gazillionaire. I have no mansions, or yahts. I don’t go on a spaceship cruise to the moon. I am your average blue collar worker who gets that people want to be heard and that their voices matter. They want to be treated fairly.
In my experience, the majority of companies have a bottom line straight out of Jerry Maguire; “SHOW ME THE MONEY!!”
Here’s my bottom line:
I don’t care whether you’re rich, a single parent on a tight budget,, or a blue collar worker. Everyone has a voice. I listen. I strive to improve. I read all of my feedback good and bad and strive to always do better.
I believe that everyone deserves quality items. Everyone deserves to be treated fairly. And that’s what I want to bring. Everything I make, I make by hand. No one held my hand while I learned, and I did it on my own. Why? Because I want to show my kids that if you want something bad enough, go get it. I believe that for everyone. The American dream.
I love my regulars. I love my new visitors. Let me show you what quality is.
My Dream
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Leah and I’ve been a seller for around seven years on Ebay, I WAS on Etsy, Mercari briefly, and in person at art shows. I started out with just making soaps for my husband due to him having severe eczema and the store bought soaps just weren’t cutting it. So I learned how to make soap for very sensitive skin. Then he got an infection that caused him to lose function of his dominant hand and was unable to work. That’s when I started my shops.
It was a hard and scary decision. I was left without a significant help to our income through just an unfortunate infection. From soap, I learned candles. Then I picked back up my love of sculpting. Then in discovering a show called Face Off, I wanted to do what they do. So I learned how to make monsters. And I love every minute of everything that I do. Painting followed shortly behind, then jewelry, then resin.
Running my shops has been a roller coaster. From being completely self taught, then a pandemic, then the after effects of the pandemic. But I’m not sorry. Because I absolutely love what I do. I love hearing that someone loves my product. My dream is to run my shops full time. Be my own boss. Set out to make people happy with great products that are ever evolving, and in this climate, being affordable.

I was an insurance agent for over a decade and my shops were just a suppliment for me. Recently, after losing my job , and much self reflection, I decided that it was time to start a new journey. Why? Because I realize how unhappy I’ve been during a ten year career in insurance. Unhappy, that I cannot help people the way that I want. Unhappy at all the rising prices and angry customers who vent about rising costs of insurance and knowing that I can do absolutely nothing to change it.
So it’s time to set out on a new journey. I’ve dreamt of being my own boss for a very long time. But it’s scary. And exciting. So became the birth of this website. My blog will continue every few days. So join me and lets dream together.
